It's hard not to fall in love with the Grand Hotel!
This site has many links concerning Somewhere in Time, the movie.

One night an adventure took me to the Grand Hotel porch to rock in one of the chairs. I had to sneak up! That's a story in itself. You do have to pay just to go up on the porch!
"Is it you?" There is a plaque at that same tree to commemorate the movie. If it's at all possible to go to Mackinac Island, I highly recommend it! Every year they have a 'Somewhere in Time' festival.

The movie "The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan", based on the book Second Sight by David Williams was the first thing that inspired me to write a time-travel.
The movie "Somewhere in Time" came out which was based on the book, Bid Time Return by Richard Matheson. That was my second inspiration to write a time-travel story.
Then, that little town in Pennsylvania finally did me in. Enchantment is a fictious town, but it's what I saw in that Victorian Town in Northwest Pennsylvania, miles away from where I live. Visions of Enchantment is the product of those yearnings or callings, whichever you choose to believe.
