Eryn Sterling and Uriah Prescot love through another 327 pages of excitment, adventure, heartache, bravery and romance!

~It's been a year since Eryn remembered her past, and also her past life with Uriah. They settle into the Enchanted Inn, exploring their new relationship, finding a heated love that is only found in fairy tales. But, it's not long before trouble starts brewing, and Eryn's family is once again in danger against something they know nothing about.

Once again, they have to make the decision whether to use the Portal again, and travel back to their own time of 1883 to find the answers. Will they put themselves at risk for the Portal to steal their love once again?

Beautiful Alyce Sterling pursues romance with the dashing and brave Cole Dawes.  Is there a wedding in their future?  Adventurous Avis Sterling returns with her spunky attitude and defiant mind of her own.  Will the girls learn to love Uriah as he becomes a part of their life?  Caring Hanah Grace, also returns, with her nurturing Grandmotherly ways.  Don't forget about Beth Van Tine and Doctor Lincoln.  Will their relationship survive a long distance love affair?  In addition to the characters from Visions of Enchantment, you'll also see more of Selah Pierson, her husband Graham, their son Jackson, and Rebecca their daughter.

You'll laugh with them and cry with them all, but the surprise twists and turns will have you turning the pages until the very end!

Note from Mary--   I'm very excited about this second book.  Again, I fell in love with these characters, and this story.  I honestly can't wait for you to read Enchantment's Embrace!  I hope you love this series so far, as much as I do.

EXCERPTS...

From Chapter Two--  PG-13

Fog was thick outside, but the soft glow of the Tiffany lamp made the interior of the cabin look romantic and secure. Eryn turned to Uriah and smiled. He was happy to see her smile. She opened her arms to him. Without hesitation, he went into them. She squeezed him tightly. She wasn't sure why she felt sad this night, but she did. It wasn't only the funeral, it seemed to be more than that.

Looking in his eyes at this very moment helped to chase the feeling away. She released the tie that held his hair back, then pulled his face down to meet hers. As she stood on her tip toes she softly touched her lips to his. The light glowed in his eyes and as usual, she melted like wax on a burning candle when he smiled at her.

Once again, on this day he untied the bow and unbuttoned the back of her dress. "This dress looks very good on you, but you'll look much better without it," he said, as he took her arms out of the sleeves and let the dress fall to the floor. He undid his tie. As she stepped away from her dress he watched her thin leg kick her shoe off. He wrapped his tie around her waist, pulling her closer. With experienced fingers, she unbuttoned his shirt, and pulled the long shirt tail out of his trousers. When she unbuttoned his cuffs, she kissed the beating pulse at his wrist. Pushing up the sleeve she touched her lips to his wrist, tickling it with her tongue. While he leaned down to kiss her she skimmed her fingernails over his back. Suddenly, they both jumped when they heard a scrap against the window pane. Uriah turned to the sound, and a quick reflection of a night a year ago came to him. It was the night Dalton Vecshaw came in and took her right away. He went over to the door, and slid the dead bolt across the jamb, pulling the drapes closed; then he flipped on the yard light, and let it burn all night.

He went back to Eryn and smiled before he kissed her again. Lifting her in his arms he carried her up the stairway to the loft. She stood near the bed, lifting her black slip off, then sat down and rolled her thigh-highs down, one leg at a time. Uriah stood watching through the mirror, so loving the way she moved. When he saw her strip off her lace bra he remembered when he nearly forced himself on her at the Enchanted Inn a year ago. Why couldn't he control himself? The same reason he couldn't control himself now; because he loved her more than time loved its minutes, more than the hour loved its glass.

Eryn crawled under the covers, waiting, watching him while he lit a candle on the dresser. She followed with her eyes as he sat in the chair and took off his shoes and socks. His movements were much too slow to suit her! He put his trousers on a hanger and hung them in the closet. She needed him badly, and he was taking too much time. Finally, he came to the bed and lit a candle on the night table. Her insides were tingling for the man she loved, while he seemed to be in no hurry.

"Uriah, I have waited too long for you to be neat. Now, come here to me!"

He watched the light dance in her eyes as they followed him around the room, suddenly becoming aroused when he saw the need in them. He dropped his shirt and went to the bed side. Slowly, he pulled the comforter away, moaning as he saw her nakedness bathed in the candlelight. He lay beside her, pulling her toward him as he wrapped his leg around hers, securing her in his embrace. Without hesitation she surmounted him, smiling directly into his eyes. Something about candlelight glowing on his face enticed her, and his cologne was like a scented mirage to her nostrils...

Outside, in the shadows, the burning tip of a cigarette could be seen as someone took a deep drag from it. In the distance, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed beyond the mountains, but in the yard a low chuckle could be heard by the tall thin man as he crushed his third cigarette butt into the ground.

Eryn continued through the day taking care of the business of the inn. It was hard for her to help decide what the hunters would do in the evenings. Somehow, Bingo didn't seem to fit their idea of a good time! Uriah's itinerary called for exciting men  things, and being the mother of daughters didn't help in this area. All the plans Uriah had written out were at the cabin, and neither Cole nor business would allow her to retrieve them.

The six rooms at the inn were full, and even though she was surrounded by men with guns, she still felt insecure. She hardly had time to mourn her grandfather. Things were moving too fast for her. Today she would go back to the bookstore. She needed to feel secure, and she did when she was there.

The weather was unusually warm for December. The trees weren't all barren, and it still looked a lot like autumn. Eryn walked the short distance to Emmet's place. She knew Cole was near even though she couldn't see him, and she appreciated him giving her privacy. She already felt like a prisoner, and she was going to put her foot down as soon as Uriah returned. She would not live in fear. She stopped at Sweet Nicole’s Tea Room for scones and Devon Cream. The least she could do for Cole!

She inhaled the smell of fresh cut wood, but when she closed her eyes, and breathed deeper, she thought she could still smell leather and old books. She leaned against the saw horse, thinking about rebuilding the house. She walked around the gutted room, and pictured her grandfather with the large old book in his hands. The one her great-great grandfather wrote...the one with the story of her life. She still found it hard to believe, but she had lived it, and in fact, it was true.

When she looked through the photo album her eyes misted. I've tried to be strong, she thought. Maybe Emmet's death was sinking in now. She felt like things were falling apart again. "Uriah, I need you," she whispered. When she touched the yellowed pages she thought of how easy it would be to flip through the pages and suddenly be in 1883– with him. She looked over her shoulder. Where was Cole? she wondered. Another page was turned...another glance back. How would she know where to find him? The doctor– maybe the doctor knew. After all, he took her bullet out, he remembered her. He would help her... One more page...one last glance. She would have to get a carriage to take her to the old log cabin. But it was twenty miles....

Eryn looked at what she was wearing. She would have to gather together the clothes of that era if she was going to do it. Her breathing was still, but her heart was pounding. At the moment she decided she would wait for another time, Cole came through the door, but she would have had enough time. And she would make it the next time.

"Eryn, think about what you are doing. I know you want to go find him, but try to be logical."

Eryn chewed on her lip and closed the album. Even Cole knew her thoughts. She didn't know she had been crying until she felt the wetness beneath her lashes. She tried to smile at him. The lonesome feeling for Emmet overwhelmed her. She picked up the bag of scones. "Let's go back to the inn. I've been here long enough," she said, as she rapidly went out the door. Behind her she heard Cole pounding the boards back on the building. His work was finished for a while.

***

The hunters were gone for the evening when she returned. They had enough of the quiet. Tonight they looked elsewhere for excitement. Eryn was glad. Opening day was tomorrow, and she knew they would be back early. She and Cole were having dinner when Alyce arrived. Eryn was glad to see her, and her eyes filled with tears at the sight of her. Her hair was in a french braid. She hadn't worn it like that since she was a child. She was wearing tan jeans and shirt, and a blue denim vest. Her boots were brown. This wasn't the conservative daughter that went away to college last year. She actually looked more like Eryn than ever.

Cole's eyes lit up when he saw her, and he took her in his arms, hugging her tightly. He kissed her, but she pulled away and looked around his shoulder to her mother. Eryn pretended not to see the crimson on her cheeks. She couldn't help but think that she was younger than them when Alyce and Avis were born. By the time she was their age, the girls were nearly four. Many images of their young years passed before her, and she wished she could remember her own young years.

Alyce shared the room with Eryn, but spent most of the evening with Cole. With him standing guard over both of them they couldn't share much time together, and Eryn recognized the yearning in both of them when they looked at each other.
